The mission of Shingo Prize is to create excellence in organizations through the application of universally accepted principles of operational excellence, alignment of management systems and the wise application of improvement techniques across an entire organizational enterprise. It is the vision of The Shingo Prize to be the Standard of Excellence for every organization. Established in 1988, it is the goal of The Shingo Prize and its educational partners to educate, assess and recognize organizations that achieve the highest level of world-class organizational excellence.
GBMP is the educational partner of Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence in the Northeastern region of the United States. Organizations in the region can rely on GBMP for information, education and assistance regarding the application process. GBMP also coordinates an annual regional Continuous Improvement conference. The Northeastern region is comprised of 11 states: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland.
