Jump start your Lean initiative! Lean manufacturing is crucial in today's world - where we need constant improvements in quality, cost and delivery times just to keep the customer from going somewhere else. Lean manufacturing, if implemented correctly, brings these improvements.

One crucial aspect of implementing Lean correctly is being involved in a community of Lean, where you can re-energize your Lean initiative and learn - from leaders in the field, from Lean practitioners, teachers and experts, and from peers who face the same challenges as you.

At the 4th annual Northeast Shingo Prize Conference, administered by GBMP at the UMass Boston College of Business Management, you'll learn new ways to approach Lean and new ways to implement your Lean initiative CORRECTLY to achieve real and lasting improvements.

In addition, the Northeast Shingo Silver and Bronze medallions for Operational Excellence will be awarded to local New England companies. The Shingo Prize is recognized worldwide as the standard for operational excellence. Recent recipients of this coveted prize include Raytheon IADC and MMC, Z Corporation, BAE Systems Advanced Composite Manufacturing, Brookfield Engineering and Thermo Electron Corporation. Each year, star performers like these exemplify the principles and best practices advanced by Shigeo Shingo of the Toyota Motorworks. During the conference, you can meet and learn from these star performers. See videos highlighting the secrets of their success and meet the change agents one-on-one to get insights into achieving Lean success.

The 2007 Northeast Shingo Prize conference theme was "Go See" and featured 15 guest speakers, world-renowned lean experts, who provided inspiration and insight, and "The Gemba Walk", an exposition of 20 companies from the regional Lean community sharing their experience with specific Lean best practices. The conference focused on tacit learning and attracted more than 200 attendees, all sharing their ideas and excitement for getting Lean. This year we'll take it one step further and explore the concept of extending the value stream beyond our four walls, sharing best practices and gains, serving the regional community, strengthening the economy and leveraging the richness of the Northeast. Come and see why attendance at the Northeast Shingo Conference has grown 20% every year.

Re-energize! Get Inspired! Create Your Lean Success!
